I DO NOT believe in an active release with the hands and arms.
I know it seems that way. I am a believer in a natural release that will occur if you don’t prevent it. All my videos, drills and blog articles are trying to explain is the motion that is created naturally if you allow it.
The plane and release by feel video is an example of what I am talking about.
These are the movements that happen if you understand what they are and you allow them to happen.
The best way I can analogize this is to describe someone who injures themselves and walks with a limp for a period of time. The limp becomes their default way of walking…natural and automatic.
In order to walk without a limp, one must retrain themselves in the natural way of doing it until it becomes automatic. I have been swinging the golf club with a limp for more years than I can count and am trying to learn to walk again.
In other words, there might be some active action on the range for a period of time to retrain your body.
I hate to break it to all of you, but there is no such thing as a golf swing devoid of timing. So you might as well pick the one that is the way your body moves naturally.
