The Clinic Experience

Monte works hard to make each clinic a unique experience, where the individual demands and swing flaws of the group help dictate the direction. The goal of every clinic is to give participants a strong sense of personal direction & understanding, so that they can continue to apply the lessons learned, long after the clinic has ended, and become increasingly knowledgable about their swing and how to manage it.

Stories from his experience as a long driver, tour pro and tour coach, along with discussions about practice strategies and mental to approaches to the game, are spread throughout the three days of a clinic.

Saturday

FULL SWING GROUP

Monte uses everybody’s faults to guide a group discussion about the full swing. Individual attention is paid to each participant along the way. Most newcomers are skeptical of the value of learning about other people’s full swing faults, but this is often the most productive piece of every clinic.

Many of the tried and true golf swing cliches and prevalent swing ideas are debunked during this session, making it easier to hone in on one relevant thought for each individual.

SHORT GAME GROUP

The afternoon session covers all areas of the short game: chipping, green-side bunkers, putting, and specialty shots.

FLIGHTSCOPE & BODITRAK

Each participant gets a Flightscope and Boditrak analysis. They will also learn about and work on shot-making during this time. Group discussions covering practice concepts, drills, and mental approaches are also covered during this time.

INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS

Participants practice on the range and get plenty of individual time with Monte in a one-on-one setting. After the previous day’s work, Monte will have a very good sense of your swing flaws and people tend to make pronounced progress during these sessions.

PLAYING LESSON

Mondays take place on the golf course. Participants play 18 holes with Monte teaching course strategy, alignment, and a host of scenarios and specialty shots.

COMMON CLINIC QUESTIONS

How much does a clinic cost?

Clinics can be attended for either TWO or THREE days. TWO DAY clinics cost $350 + facility fee. THREE DAY clinics are $450 +facility fee. Facility fees usually average around $50 per day.

HOW DO DEPOSITS WORK?

You pay a deposit of $200 to reserve a spot for your clinic using the links above in the calendar. Deposits are 100% refundable.

IS EVERY SCHEDULED CLINIC CONSIDERED CONFIRMED?

No. A clinic is considered confirmed when at least 8 golfers have signed up to attend by placing deposits. If fewer than 8 sign up, one of the following will happen:

The clinic will be cancelled and your deposit will be refunded.
The clinic will go on as scheduled, when possible.
Monte will offer some sort of substitution, either private lessons or a shorter clinic, as option.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHOSEN CLINIC IS CANCELLED?

Your deposit will be completely refunded.

WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE IT? CAN I CANCEL?

Yes. While we hope every one will make a good effort to attend, we understand that things come up. You can cancel at any time, and your deposit will be refunded.

WOULDN'T INDIVIDUAL LESSONS BE BETTER THAN A GROUP CLINIC?

While this depends on the individual, in general, a group setting provides many unexpected benefits. For one, by participating in discussions about the swing using everybody’s faults as a guide, participants gain a much better sense of the overall keys to a good golf swing. A group setting also provides opportunities for friendly competition, working on your swing in front of other people, and gaining access to state-of-the-art teaching technology that isn’t frequently available in most one-on-one settings. In addition, you really can’t compare the two without also comparing the costs involved. Three full days of lessons with an instructor would cost many times the cost of attending a clinic. Clinics are a great value and an excellent opportunity to dive deep into improving your game without breaking the bank.

HOW MUCH INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION WILL I RECEIVE?

Lots! Much of Monte’s clinic time is spent working one-on-one with individual golfers, assessing their swings using boditrak and flightscope measurements, and taking video of their swings. Monte also reviews student swing videos in the evenings during clinics, giving him an opportunity to strategize with them the following day.

HOW DO THE TWO DAY/THREE DAY SPLITS WORK?

Most clinics are scheduled for SAT-SUN-MON. The most common two-day option is to attend Saturday & Sunday. Since Mondays take place on the golf course, you would miss the playing portion of the clinic. However, you are free to attend any combination of days that work for your schedule.

CAN I SCHEDULE INDIVIDUAL LESSONS WITH MONTE WHILE HE'S IN TOWN?

This will depend on his travel schedule, his availability, and the number of attendees attending the clinic. You can use the contact form at the bottom of this page to ask.

CAN I SCHEDULE A CLINIC IN MY AREA WITH MONTE?

Yes! You need a group of at least 8 golfers and a facility that will host us. If you have 4 or more and a facility in mind, send us a note. We are happy to try to fill out the clinic by publicizing it on our website.
