Long Driving goes to the next level

I came back to the sport at the right time. Art Sellenger did a tremendous job and partnered with Golf Channel and NBC.

Next year, October will be long drive month on the Golf Channel, with live coverage, long driver spotlights and tips.

There will be dozens of hours of coverage and the finals will be live in prime time.

There will also be a one hour special on NBC.

As I said below, I am in the winners bracket and in the final 16. I have two chances to make the quarter finals, then I believe it is mach play from there on in. Getting to the quarters is huge as it gets you exempt for next year…and a payday.

Here is a video of me walking the grid. I am very close to being at a level where I can win. I need a bounce here and there and have the right matchups.

As a wiley veteran, you have an advantage. When Mobley won last year, he got about 70 yards of roll.

Another Big Breaker (Golf Channel) is in the field. Gerry James. He’s massive.

I know Gerry all too well.

Had a few nice talks with Mobley. One on the grid right after I took the video.

If you have this attitude going forward, you’ll be in good shape:
“I’d be lying if I didn’t say I am pretty nervous. Anxious might be a better word.

“Seeing Mobley, Pavlet and Fister for the first time in almost 20 years, and them being thrilled I was back, was great last night.

“My performance this week is going to be judged like a line drive into the gap with a former gold glove center fielder chasing it down.

“If he catches it, it’s a Sportscenter highlight. If he doesn’t, he’s over the hill and lost it.

“No in between and I am OK with that.”

So do you have a signature yell or grunt at impact, like “More Advil!” Go luck old man, you can do it!

Am I the only one who can’t view the video? Do I need to log in first?
