Body release vs. something else.

I heard from a friend the term “body release” was used on TV.

As opposed to a “hand release?????” or whatever else the opposing thing is called this week?

All body release means is what I have been saying. If you allow everything to work in sync, centrifugal force will release the hands exactly where they should be. That is the way a human body will work under normal conditions (some permanent injury notwithstanding).

Anything that is not a body release is some contrived motion, where the hands are too active, that was invented to falsely create more distance, which will create an occasional long drive anomaly, at the expense of consistency and good golf.

One plane/two plane, body release/hand release…I am sick of all of these terms. When are we just going to hear someone say…”the natural way each individual’s body works?”

Wait, I said that. čÖé

When I tell my friends about your teachings this is all I say to them. Perfect sentence!

It’s no problem if people trying to learn bring them up…because you are trying to learn. I am sick of all the people in the media doing it and it confusing everyone.

Seems to me that beginners try to get power through leverage (hand release?) rather than use a whole-body turn to get a centrifugal force release.

That’s because instinctively this feels like the best and easiest and most natural way to produce power (hand release). Tell any beginner to hold firm with the club and turn back and through with the body and they’ll look very uncomfortable. They may even think you’re an idiot. Even for this lifelong flipper/converting to a body release swing it’s hard to do because you naturally want to throw that club with the hands.
