Blame Nicklaus for the downward spiral? He was the first “top” slow player that I can remember.
Jack played slow but walked fast to make up for it. The pre shot routine made slow play an issue, because a time limit was never stressed in doing it. If your routine is over 45 seconds, you’re taking too long.
