There you have it.

There is a thread on GolfWrx that personifies what sidetracked my career, what is incredibly wrong with golf instruction today and what I am trying to change an inch at a time.

Nothing so far in this thread is wrong per se, but what chance does this guy have?

LINK to thread

He has so much technical minutia going through his thought processes and the responses aren’t helping him any with this problem.

He needs a little more bend at the waist (not less bend in the knees), which will stick his butt out farther and give him more room.

His shoulder turn will become less flat when he bends more at the waist, he won’t be stuck as much, the club will release better and he won’t “hump the goat.”

Instead of all this techno BS about P1 and P4, improve the setup and see what happens. Then maybe a little better shoulder turn angle if the setup change doesn’t take care of it.

Then possibly allowing the release to happen a little better instead of “holding the lag” and forcing a hip thrust at the ball (humping the goat) in order to get the club out to the ball.

BUT LET’S SEE HOW THE SETUP CHANGE HELPS THINGS FIRST, BEFORE WE INSTALL 27 MECHANICAL SWING THOUGHTS TO HIT POSITIONS.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this is how Charles Whitman got started.

(Sorry for the tasteless joke, but I’m hostile)

Looks like good clubhead speed, and he finishes in balance. Looks like good contact, no digging, skulling…

Before I would even begin to look farther, I’d want to know what club he was using, where the ball went, and what the ball flight looked like.

His swing LOOKS better than Trevino’s or Palmer’s.

It’s unfortunate there are many, many threads like that on GolfWRX. Makes me wanna puke when I’ve seen how simple golf can be with a philosophy like Monte’s. Seriously, what is that guy expecting to hear after spouting all that useless techno-babble? Should we tell him that his front foot should be 27.4 degrees out instead of 25?

I can’t stand Golfwrx especially after the owner practically yelled at me when I inquired about sponsoring. He treated me like crap when I was looking at spending money on his site. Terrible attitude. I think a lot of the guys on there have similar attitudes.

Richie3jack runs a good board, I wish yours had more success Monte.

Yea, well, me too…LOL. Hopefully when I improve the site, the message board will get more action.

Why would an owner of a business treat a potential sponsor poorly? That makes absolutely no sense…unless the owner’s name is Todd.

I always pictured you more as Mason than Whitman. Please remember to have your pets splayed and neutered.

I now it was a while ago but my computer was down so forgive me, but this is something that I have to say about stack and tilt. Monte I know you have played some golf in Billings, MT a pro there by the name of John Walker who has been teaching that set up that you had last month for 15 to 20 years. I tried to teach it Fairlee but he just will not listen (ha ha). Your are correct it’s not for everyone. Thanks for the time you spend on your blog.
