Sandra Gal, Anna Grzebien and Christina Kim posed semi nude for ESPN the Magazine. People are going to have reactions. Some will say it’s exploitation, some will act like dirty old men and leer at the photo and others will have little or no reaction.
Here is what I think. This photo is no more controversial than what you see in TV and print adds selling products that have nothing to do with sex or naked female bodies. The LPGA is struggling a bit and this won’t hurt their appeal.
Some may say this is a sellout and using the “sex sells” argument is weak. I say as long as they didn’t feel pressured or embarrassed, what is the harm?
I agree there is a line you never cross in all decisions of decency and morality. This picture is not within a Bubba Watson…or Monte Scheinblum drive of that line.
If you are offended, don’t look at the picture and look up the word hypocrite in the dictionary. 🙂
On the other hand, if Tim Herron, Kevin Stadler and Boo Weekly posed in the same fashion, I would cry foul and lead a class action suit for all those who were exposed to the picture and lost their vision…or their lunches.
Until that happens, let’s take ourselves a little less seriously, mind our own business and let others have some harmless fun and live their lives the way they want to.
